HDPE Tarpaulins
The workhorse of Indian tarpaulin — light, waterproof, UV-stabilised HDPE laminates for every scale of use.
Key features
- ◆100% waterproof cross-laminated construction
- ◆UV-2 to UV-8 stabilised master-batch
- ◆Reinforced eyelets every 1 m as standard
- ◆Heat-sealed / stitched seam options
- ◆Batch-level COA on GSM, tensile & waterproofing
Overview
HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) tarpaulins are woven from HDPE tapes and laminated with LDPE film on both sides. The result: a strong, 100% waterproof fabric that resists tearing, weighs a fraction of PVC, and stays affordable at scale.
At AJ polymers, our HDPE catalogue spans 90–300 GSM, seamless widths up to 12 m, UV-2 to UV-8 stabilisation, and eyeleted borders every 1 m. Every roll is batch-tested for GSM, tensile and waterproofing.

Buying advice
- 💡 Ask for the batch COA — declared GSM must be within ±5%.
- 💡 For coastal Kerala, TN & AP: insist on UV-8 stabilisation.
- 💡 Always specify eyelet pitch (1 m standard, 0.5 m heavy-duty).
- 💡 Heat-sealed seams outlast stitched seams by ~2 seasons.

Frequently asked questions
How long does an HDPE tarpaulin last in the field?+
A UV-2 grade at 120 GSM lasts 12–18 months of continuous exposure. UV-8 grades at 200 GSM+ regularly deliver 3–4 seasons under Indian sun.
Can HDPE tarpaulins be repaired?+
Yes — small tears can be patched with HDPE tape and a heat-gun. For larger holes, we recommend hot-air welding a fresh panel over the damage.
